Vergaser Score Late to Win, 4-3
|
The Stuttgart Vergaser knocked off the Bolzano Dolomiti, 4-3, in Westlicher Kreis action at Stadio degli Dolomiti. Stuttgart pitcher and Brunswick, Germany, native Rudi Alexander had an outstanding performance. Stuttgart pitcher Redmond Meyer got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ubaldo Mezzatesta got the loss. The Vergaser saw their record improve to 37-42.
Stuttgart used the timely hitting of Valerius Noth to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Vergaser on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"All in all, I thought Rudi pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Stuttgart manager Lee Richmond.
