Neoterici Use Late Rally to Win
|
Alba Florido, who is tied for 8th in the WLK in innings pitched with 218.2, propelled his team to victory over the Stuttgart Vergaser. The final score was 4-3, Verona. Florido got the win, improving to 12-13. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Verona is now 56-43, while Stuttgart is 56-45.
Verona used the timely hitting of Marcio Deangelo to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Neoterici on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Alba had good arm action, good stuff," said Verona manager Eduardo Rivera.
