|
Juncos pitcher Juan Hernández had a large part in his team beating the Vega Baja Caneros, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hernández got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Juan Santos picked up his 1st save of the season.
Juncos used the timely hitting of Jaiden Shelton to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Valencianos on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Shelton.
The second-place Valencianos now have a win-loss record of 63-74.
