Comerio Guabaleros starter Ildefonso Espinoza hurled his team past the Cidra Palomas, 8-2. Espinoza, now 4-8, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.

The Palomas had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Guabaleros going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Israhel Hartman came to the plate. Hartman hit a run-scoring triple on a first pitch fastball from Cidra hurler Príamo Diosdado. It was Hartman's 6th triple of the year.

Espinoza pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."

The third-place Guabaleros go to 22-35.
