New York Nears Round 1 Triumph After 1-0 Win
|
When the games really matter, the New York Giants put on their best show, beating the Louisville Colonels by a final score of 1-0. Hugh Bedient threw 8.2 innings of shutout ball. New York now leads Louisville 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The clutch hit was provided by Bill Dahlen. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Brad Drain in the bottom of the ninth.
"It's always fun to see the other guys getting frustrated, but the series isn't over and we've got to make sure to keep them on their heels," New York manager James Roseman said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Polo Grounds 1890-1910 in New York.
