Bangor Wins to Cut Derry Lead to 2-1
|
Already down in the Crown of the Four Flowers, the Bangor Bishops put on their best show, beating the Derry Maidens by a final score of 2-1. Zacarías Sosa was special. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 1 run. Bangor now trails Derry 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Bangor took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Manuel Blas hit a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, Bishops.
"It's a big deal," Blas said of the win. "If we had gone to 0-3, we're pretty much out of it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bishops Fields in Bangor.
