Mentor Breaks Through for First Win in Championship of the Great Lakes; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Championship of the Great Lakes, the Mentor Rose Stockings put on their best show, beating the Saginaw Joes by a final score of 5-4. Moose McCormick was special. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Mentor now trails Saginaw 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, McCormick hit a fastball from Duarte Sánchez for a run-scoring single. The Rose Stockings, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This was a good win," said McCormick.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Rosebush in Mentor.
