Bermudes, Melodeons Force Game 7 in 14-Inning Marathon
The Bennington Melodeons and the Waterville Elms will take the Division Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation at Melodeon Grounds, the Melodeons beat the Elms, 7-6, on a walk-off in extra innings to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bennington first baseman Manuel Bermudes was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks.

In the bottom of the 14th, Rafael Martínez delivered the big blow for Bennington, stroking a game-winning run-scoring single off Waterville pitcher Gregory Carroll.

"I think that game took a few years off my life," Bennington manager Alcides González said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Melodeon Grounds in Bennington.
