The Canovanas Criptidos got a critical win in the first game of the Serie Interliga and did so in dramatic fashion, topping the host Naguabo Malditos by the score of 5-4 in the 10th inning at El Círculo Noveno. Criptidos designated hitter Emanuel Leanos went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch. Now holding a 1-0 lead, the Criptidos will have two chances to close out the Malditos.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Emanuel Luna? The 21-year old first baseman Luna stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Canovanas up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It's not about individual awards," Leanos told a Canovanas Daily reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at El Círculo Noveno in Naguabo.
