The Mayaguez Capitanes moved to within one game of the Campeonato de las Ligas, downing the visiting Isabela Quesiteros at Coliseo Atlético del Oeste by a score of 7-6. Capitanes first baseman Byron Wood did some major damage. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI. The win gives the Capitanes a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Serie Interdivisional.

Spike Stonehand hit a 2-run double off José Rico in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Capitanes in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Stonehand had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

Wood said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played for Monday, November 9th , 1908 at Estadio Municipal de Isabela in Isabela.
