Campeonato Interdivisional Game 1 Goes to Matanzas, Thanks to Quaile
The Matanzas Henequeneros started the Campeonato Interdivisional in style, downing the visiting Habana Leones at Campo de Matanzas by a score of 7-6 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Henequeneros catcher Kellagh Quaile was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Had Balbino Mojica not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Mojica hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Henequeneros.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Mojica.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Campo de Matanzas in Matanzas.
