Half Moons Take 2-1 Lead with 5-1 Win
|
London had no answer for Utica starter Germán García, who flummoxed Regulars hitters as the Half Moons cruised to victory, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Interleague Series. The Half Moons now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 series, thanks in large part to the left-handed García, who controlled London throughout the contest and threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball.
Right Fielder Roberto Cortez made an impact for Utica, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Damian Freake in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Cortez went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
García attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 29th , 1910 at Cookie Cutter Park in Utica.
