In a pivotal Game 5, the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles were hoping for a big game from starter Lisandro Herrera. They got one.

The right-hander shut out the Coro Bizantinos, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 1-0 victory. The Timoneles took the 1-0 win over the Coro Bizantinos to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Puerto La Cruz first baseman Luis Frías, facing Alfie Fraser, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Timoneles the 1-0 win.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Herrera said.

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Estadio de Coro in Coro.
