Smelters Even With Brats After Extra-Innings Win
When the games really matter, the Marquette Smelters put on their best show, beating the Sheboygan Brats by a final score of 5-4. Veloso Rivera was 4-4 with 4 singles. The series now sits at 1-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

In the bottom of the 12th, Marco Hernández had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring single to center off Sheboygan pitcher Cy Falkenberg.

"They tested our mettle," said Rivera. "But that's good. It toughens us up."

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at The Grill in Sheboygan.
