Utuado Wins Serie Preliminar

One thing is certain -- the Utuado Arribenos and Toa Baja Jinetes left it all on the field.
In a back-and-forth Serie Preliminar that went to the final game, the Arribenos prevailed at Parque de los Arribeños today to advance to the Serie Eliminatoria. Utuado won the deciding game 2-0 to capture the series 3-2.
"In a series that close, you feel fortunate to come out on top of it," said Plácido Polanco, who was named series MVP.
Polanco put up a 0.00 ERA over 18 innings pitched, with a 2-0 record.
The Utuado Arribenos will play against the Juana Diaz Reyes in the next round. Juana Diaz won their series against the Toa Alta Poetas 3 games to 2. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
