At Coliseo Germán Márquez, the Cayey Cornupetas and Guayama Hechiceros were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Starting pitcher Héctor Marroquín took care of business, helping the Guayama Hechiceros stifle the Cayey Cornupetas, 3-0. Marroquín yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 2-8.
Guayama left fielder Luis Zumbado helped the Hechiceros go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Zumbado hit a run-scoring single off Cayey pitcher Toribio Garza.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Marroquín after the game.
Guayama, with the win, sits at 18-45.
