Tumbabrazos Defeat Hechiceros, 4-3
|
The Guayama Hechiceros and Carolina Tumbabrazos provided some drama for the home crowd.
Carolina starter Lázaro Carrillo pitched well against the Guayama Hechiceros at Coliseo Germán Márquez. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 12 innings. The winner in relief was Carl Gillen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Luis Baca came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Guayama pitcher Godofredo Ramírez, he hit a 0-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Carolina on top, 4-3.
"When there are games to be won," said Carolina manager Alonso Salinas, "you win them."
The win lifts Carolina to a record of 3-5.
