Valencianos Get Close Win Over Arzobispos, 5-4
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Cosme Tejeda, the Aguada Arzobispos lost to the Juncos Valencianos, 5-4. Tejeda went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win puts the Valencianos at 30-35, while the Arzobispos drop to 33-35.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Alrigo Sánchez was at the plate when Juncos scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Valencianos to go in front, 5-4.
Sánchez attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
