The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Las Piedras Menestrales topped the Yabucoa Dulceros, 7-6, with designated hitter Pascual Flores playing a big role. Flores was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the Menestrales in the win. Boanerges Murillo earned his 13th save, after closing out the game.
In the bottom of the seventh, Fernando Burciaga put Las Piedras in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single, making the score 7-6, Menestrales.
"We ground out the win," said Burciaga. "That's all that matters."
The first-place Menestrales lifted their record to 40-31.
