Romeros Lose 3-2 Decision to Arecibo
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Arecibo Lobos and Hormigueros Romeros.
The Arecibo Lobos topped the Hormigueros Romeros, 3-2, in Liga Betances action at Coliseo Eugenio Carvajal. The standout performance belonged to Arecibo pitcher and Panjakent, Tajikistan, native Murodali Karomatullo. Gabriel Feliciano was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 9 save opportunities.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Abenámar Dávila? The 32-year old second baseman Dávila stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Arecibo up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We want to make a habit of winning," Dávila said after the game.
The win makes Arecibo 21-51.
