The Ciales Galanes and Vega Alta Martilleros provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Vega Alta Martilleros did just enough to sneak past the Ciales Galanes, 4-3, at Coliseo Emeterio García. Vega Alta pitcher Miqueas Álvarez, in particular, had a standout performance. Álvarez, now 10-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Earning his 5th save of the year was Avelino Guillén.

Félix Chavaña, who is tied for 5th in the LB with a .336 batting average, aided the Vega Alta cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Ciales manager Herodes Tavárez.

The Martilleros improved their record to 26-46 by beating Ciales.
