The Guayanilla Electricos got a superb performance from third baseman Javier López, but the Rio Grande Cotorras still won the game, 4-3. López was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Rio Grande reliever Hansel Portuondo was the winner. His record is now 4-4. The losing pitcher was Curro Terrazas. The Cotorras, at 43-30, sit in first place in the Liga Betances El Yunque.

The Cotorras got a clutch hit from designated hitter John Barnes. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Cotorras.

Barnes told a Rio Grande Chronicle reporter that he felt "elated" after the win.
