At Coliseo Paulino Soto, the Fajardo Insolentes and Corozal Mofongueros were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Corozal Mofongueros got a magnificent effort from pitcher Leonel Alvarrán, who kept Fajardo hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Mofongueros win at Coliseo Paulino Soto. Julio Rodríguez recorded the save for Corozal, his 12th of the season.
Diodoro García was 2-3 with a triple for Corozal. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, García, who led the LH in doubles with 34 in 1907, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Fajardo hurler Luis Flores, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Mofongueros a 2-1 lead.
"Leonel kept his poise and got the job done," said Corozal manager Ramón Orosco. "He was outstanding."
The first-place Mofongueros have a record of 46-29.
