Marineros 5-1 Losers to Rincon
|
At Coliseo Hermógenes Cárdenas, the Barceloneta Marineros and Rincon Ingenieros were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Rincon Ingenieros picked up a win at Coliseo Hermógenes Cárdenas, topping the Barceloneta Marineros, 5-1. On the mound for Rincon was right-hander Propercio Jiménez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Sergio García, who is tied for 5th in the LH in saves with 12, nailed down the save.
The Ingenieros got a big at-bat from first baseman Trevor Ransom. For the game, Ransom went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Rincon a 3-0 lead.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Ransom.
By defeating Barceloneta, the first-place Ingenieros improved to 51-28.
