Arroyo Telegrafistas starter José Peralta pitched his team past the Arecibo Lobos, 8-2. Peralta, now 7-10, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The second-place Telegrafistas improved to 54-40.
In the bottom of the fourth, Arroyo center fielder Roberto Bercián whacked a fastball to left-center for a 2-run triple. His 6th triple of the season put the Telegrafistas in front, 3-1.
"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Arroyo manager Leovigildo Medina.
