Late Rally Earns Morovis 5-1 Win
|
The Morovis Sanisalvos rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Enrique Ocampo to a win, beating the Ciales Galanes, 5-1, at Coliseo Homero Contreras. Morovis now has a record of 61-37 with the win.
Wayne Clifford drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Morovis. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Clifford, who is tied for 9th in the LB with a .321 batting average, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Ciales hurler Cristóbal Osorio, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Sanisalvos a 2-1 lead.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Ocampo.
