Esqueletos Defeated, 6-2, After Fajardo Rallies
|
The Fajardo Insolentes and Vieques Esqueletos completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Fajardo Insolentes topped the Vieques Esqueletos, 6-2, with third baseman Christian Gallais playing a big role. Gallais went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk for the Insolentes in the win. The winner in relief was Abilio Rivera. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. He now owns a record of 6-6.
Had Gallais not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Gallais hit a run-scoring single. The Insolentes took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Gallais told the Fajardo Daily.
With the win, Fajardo has a record of 79-56. Vieques falls to 63-79.
