Riding the 3-hit performance of the 20-year old third baseman Ramón Ramos, the Carolina Tumbabrazos stopped the Mayaguez Capitanes, 8-2. Carolina pitcher Alfonso López got the win, upping his record to 14-10. Ronit Robinson got the loss. Carolina bumps their record to 49-52 with the win.

Carolina used a big swing from José Guamán to get the win. The catcher walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tumbabrazos up, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Ramos.
