The skies opened up and the rain fell at Coliseo Llenza Fellú.
Barceloneta pitcher Adolfo Ureña did his part in helping his team beat the Caguas Coquis, 6-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Ureña yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-5.
Martín Martínez had a big 2-run double for the Marineros in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Barceloneta leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ricardo Puello and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marineros ahead, 5-1.
Afterward, Caguas manager Mateo Santiago said: "We've hit a rough patch."
The Marineros lead the Liga Hostos Norte by 9 games.
