The Rio Grande Cotorras faced a tough opponent in Hormigueros pitcher Alheib Tau, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Coliseo Eugenio Carvajal by a final score of 4-3. Tau went 10 innings and allowed 3 runs. Ezequiel Vásquez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 14-9. The first-place Cotorras now sit at 61-43.

The most important at-bat for Rio Grande came in the top of the 11th inning. With two out, Viriato Frescues reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting Rio Grande up, 4-3.
