Romeros Handed 4-1 Loss by Valencianos
|
Labán Marmolejo never let Hormigueros get something going. The Juncos right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Valencianos to a 4-1 win. Cayetano Rodríguez earned save number 22 this season. Juncos, now 52-52, holds down second place in the Liga Betances El Yunque.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Jaiden Shelton had a game-changing hit. The Valencianos third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Mauricio Hernández, making the score 3-1, Juncos.
"Good win for us," said Shelton. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
