Mofongueros Resilient in 3-2 Win Over Naranjito
The Corozal Mofongueros finished things off in style.

The Corozal Mofongueros eked out a 3-2 win versus the Naranjito Brillantes at Coliseo Paulino Soto. Nobody did more than pitcher Abdulbasit Maaroufi. He was terrific. Corozal reliever Aureliano Santa picked up the win, raising his record to 7-3. Eugenio Ponce was tagged with the loss.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, fan favorite Diodoro García had a real shot to win the game. Naranjito pitcher Augurio Acosta was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, García hit a run-scoring single. The Mofongueros had a walk-off triumph.

"Abdulbasit is one tough hombre," said Corozal manager Ramón Orosco.

With the win over Naranjito, the Mofongueros improved to 65-42.
