The Las Piedras Menestrales trumped the Anasco Matadioses, 7-6, at Coliseo Jorge Olivares. Las Piedras center fielder Pascual Flores was terrific. He went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Frank Rivers earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record is now 4-4. Las Piedras is now 80-61, Anasco 73-66.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Homero Aguilar came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Anasco pitcher Eulalio Castillo, he hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Las Piedras on top, 7-6.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Aguilar, "but we got it done."
