Barceloneta Carves Out 3-1 Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Barceloneta Marineros and Cayey Cornupetas were able to complete their ballgame.
Toribio Garza could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Cayey Cornupetas lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Barceloneta Marineros at La Plaza de Cayey. The Marineros sit in first place in the Liga Hostos Norte with a record of 71-37.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With one out, Natán Pulido hit a 0-1 fastball from Sarpedón Rodríguez for a 2-run single. It put Barceloneta in front, 3-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pulido said after the game.
