Anasco and Fajardo got after it at Estadio Noé Martínez.
The Anasco Matadioses knocked off the Fajardo Insolentes, 7-1, in Liga Hostos action at Estadio Noé Martínez. Anasco pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Eusebio Ortiz had an outstanding performance. In 7 innings, Ortiz surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run.
In the bottom of the third, Segundo Cabada delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 1st, the Anasco second baseman hit a run-scoring double, putting the Matadioses in front, 7-1.
"We'll put this win in the can," said Ortiz, "and then go after the next one."
Anasco occupies second place in the Liga Hostos Oeste at 58-50.
