Jinetes Defeated, 3-2, After Isabela Rallies
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Isabela Quesiteros and Toa Baja Jinetes.
The Isabela Quesiteros topped the Toa Baja Jinetes, 3-2, in Liga Hostos action at Estadio Armando Sandoval. The game was highlighted by the performance of Isabela pitcher Guillermo Rivera. Martín Magallanes recorded the save for Isabela, his 6th of the season.
Isabela used a timely hit from Arnold Wilson to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Quesiteros ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Toa Baja manager Antonio Zambrano. "But we decided not to take it."
With the win, Isabela has a record of 73-34. Toa Baja falls to 62-48.
