San Lorenzo Leyendas starter Facundo Ramos turned in a sterling performance against the Caguas Coquis, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Ramos, now 5-19, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. San Lorenzo has now won 4 games in a row.
José Sarabia drove in one run for San Lorenzo. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Sarabia, who finished 5th in the LH in doubles with 37 in 1905, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Caguas hurler Ricardo de la Cruz, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Leyendas a 3-2 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" San Lorenzo manager Rafael Ortiz said.
