Combatientes Collect 4-3 Win Versus Camuy
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Cabo Rojo Combatientes and Camuy Murcielagos.

The Camuy Murcielagos were defeated, 4-3, by the Cabo Rojo Combatientes at Estadio Víctor Nieves, even though Ubaldo Flores pitched well for Camuy. The winner was J.P. Haines, who threw 129 pitches over 8.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Xavier Simmons came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Camuy pitcher Sabino Ávila, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cabo Rojo on top, 4-3.

After the game, Cabo Rojo manager Dick Hunt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

With the win, the Combatientes have a record of 61-57.
