Yabucoa third baseman Ismael González was sensational. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Carolina beat the Dulceros, 8-5. At 60-60, Carolina is in first place in the Liga Hostos Metro Este.

The Dulceros had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Tumbabrazos going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 35-year old second baseman Ángel Chagoya came to the plate. Chagoya hit a bases-clearing double on a 1-0 changeup from Yabucoa hurler Víctor Hugo Velásquez. It was Chagoya's 2nd double of the year.

"We've got great fans," said Chagoya. "I hope they got what they came for."
