The Cayey Cornupetas converted a terrific effort from starter Américo Prats into a win over the Villalba Mercaderes at La Plaza de Cayey. The Cornupetas won the game by a final score of 2-1. The winning pitcher was Prats, now 11-9. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Cayey is now 65-55, Villalba 58-66.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Mercaderes allowed the Cornupetas to score the winning run.
