Tumbabrazos Snatch Late Win
|
The Carolina Tumbabrazos topped the Caguas Coquis, 3-1, in Liga Hostos action at Campo Atlético de Caguas. The standout performance belonged to Carolina pitcher and Carolina, Puerto Rico, native Lázaro Carrillo. Carrillo, now 7-15, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. The 'W' lifts Carolina's record to 62-64.
Conor Macdonald came through with a big-time hit for Carolina. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Macdonald said.
