The Barranquitas Ilustres converted a terrific effort from starter Jesús Monge into a win over the Bayamon Lecheros at Estadio de los Ilustres. The Ilustres won the game by a final score of 4-2. Monge, now 12-15, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Barranquitas win streak is now 3 games.

Some sloppy defense hurt the Lecheros. In the bottom of the third, with Barranquitas trailing 1-0, Rafael Beltrán was at the plate when Barranquitas scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Ilustres to go in front, 2-1.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Beltrán told the Barranquitas Daily News.
