The Capitanes benefited from an error in the top of the fifth inning. Mayaguez was leading 2-1 when William Jepson hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Mayaguez in front, 4-1.

"We're one win closer to our goal," Galicia said in postgame remarks.
