Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Ilustres beat the Cornupetas.
Getting offensive support from Florentino Orozco, the Barranquitas Ilustres topped the Cayey Cornupetas, 7-1. Orozco was 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Ilustres. With the win, Barranquitas goes to 56-69, while the Cornupetas fall to 65-58.
Barranquitas designated hitter Dwaine May contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 105th hit of the season and put the Ilustres ahead, 4-1.
"Winning is always a team effort," May said after the game.
