In a low-scoring game between the Humacao Milagrosos and the Las Piedras Menestrales, pitcher Roano Tapia was the difference-maker. The Humacao left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Milagrosos win. Ricardo Chávez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 10-8. Humacao sits in third place in the Liga Hostos Este at 60-68.
Had Egidio Ferdín not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Ferdín hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Milagrosos.
"Roano made his pitches," said Humacao manager Eduardo Argueta.
