Hormigueros Romeros starter Alheib Tau pitched a strong game against the Maunabo Artilleros at Recinto Atlético del Sureste, leading the Romeros to victory, 3-1. The Artilleros fall to 7-10 and continue their sputtering start to the 1913 season.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Perseo Martínez? The 26-year old right fielder Martínez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Hormigueros up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Tau said after the game.
