Vega Alta Stymied by Guaynabo, 2-1
|
The Guaynabo Libertadores picked up a win at Coliseo Emeterio García, taking down the Vega Alta Martilleros, 2-1. Starting pitcher Bryan Ryan was a big reason why. Ryan, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 1, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Torcuato López closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
With two out in the top of the second, Mateo Flores put Guaynabo in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Libertadores went on to win the ballgame.
"Some games build character," said Guaynabo manager Billy Riley. "Like this one."
Vega Alta is 0-3 after the defeat.
