Ciudad Juarez picked up a win at Estadio Municipal de Juárez, bumping off the Guanajuato Libertadores, 3-2. Pitcher Javier Tapia was a major reason the Nortenos emerged victorious. Ciudad Juarez reliever Víctor Robles, who finished 5th in the LN in saves with 12 in 1907, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Héctor Varela took the loss for Guanajuato. With the win, Ciudad Juarez has a record of 24-21. Guanajuato falls to 20-23.

When he batted in the bottom of the 11th, Marcos Rizo had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Guanajuato pitcher Héctor Varela was determined not to let him. But with one out, Rizo drew a walk, driving in 1 run -- and the Nortenos had a suspense-filled triumph.

Said losing manager Álvaro Trejo: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
