Fieles Pick Up 2-0 Road Win Over Aguada
|
The Lares Fieles topped the Aguada Arzobispos, 2-0, in Liga Betances action at Estadio Municipal de Aguada. The standout performance belonged to Lares pitcher and Guayama, Puerto Rico, native Ramón Carrizales. Their 61-71 record puts the Fieles third in the Liga Betances Cordillera Oeste.
The outcome was still in doubt in the bottom of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Aguada trailing 2-0, Finley Miller needed to get a big out. On a 3-1 sinker, Mórsimo Vásquez, who led the LB in hits with 203 last year, lined out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
