Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Corozal Mofongueros got the win.

The Corozal Mofongueros picked up a win at La Plaza de Cayey, taking down the Cayey Cornupetas, 4-2. Starting pitcher Samuel Medina was a big reason why. Medina got the win, improving to 12-10. He gave up 9 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Julio Rodríguez converted his 21st save in 25 tries.

Justino Garza, who is a three-time Acutísimo winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Garza contributed a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put Corozal up, 2-0.

"It was a real good effort by Samuel," said Corozal manager Ramón Orosco. "I loved the way he bore down."

The Mofongueros saw their win-loss record go to 75-54. At the same time, the Cornupetas fell to 68-59.
